A child with a learning disability will show a significant discrepancy between his
or her academic potential and his or her academic performance.
In some cases, the child will be struggling to perform at a level comparable
to most of his or her peers. In other
cases, the child may be performing at a level commensurate with his or her peers
when he or she should be performing at an even higher level.
